About

Hi! I’m Ainsley Reese Koch, a maker with a background in environmental science and a lifelong love of arts and crafts. I earned my bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, and now work as a biologist in San Antonio, Texas.

My time outdoors, studying ecosystems and species in their natural habitats, inspires my creative endeavors. From native wildflowers to pollinators and small creatures often overlooked, I aim to capture the quiet beauty of the natural world through soft, colorful, and thoughtful detail.

Art has always been my way of connecting with the world, and now it’s also a way to share what I’ve learned and observed as a scientist. I hope my work brings a little more awareness, joy, and appreciation for the wild spaces and species we share this planet with.

While watercolor and acrylic paint have been some of my main mediums for many years, I’m always exploring. I work in a variety of styles and materials following wherever inspiration takes me. From ink sketches, fabric and sewing, to leather work and paper mache, I enjoy letting each idea guide the process.

Thanks for being here! Whether you're just browsing or looking for a piece that brings nature or joy into your home, I’m so glad that we crossed paths!
